How we verify trainers on trainer.sa
Last updated:
Every trainer on trainer.sa is reviewed before trainees can see their profile: we check their identity, confirm their professional certificates with the issuing bodies wherever we can, and review the profile before it goes live. This page explains exactly what we check, and what the "Certified" badge does and doesn't mean.
What we check
Identity
We match the trainer's name and photo against their national ID or a valid residence permit (iqama), and confirm that the mobile number on the account belongs to them. We never publish ID numbers or ID photos; verification documents are stored encrypted and only our verification team can see them.
Professional certificates
We confirm certificates with the issuing body wherever it allows us to, or review the original and contact the issuer when needed. Examples of what we check:
- Yoga: registration with Yoga Alliance at RYT-200 level or above, through its directory of registered teachers.
- Boxing: a coaching licence issued by the Saudi Boxing Federation.
- Swimming: a lifeguard certificate from the Saudi Swimming Federation, which we ask of swimming coaches and especially those who teach children.
- Clinical nutrition: professional classification by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS). Nobody on the platform is described as a "dietitian" or "clinical nutritionist" without it; everyone else gives general nutrition guidance as a "nutrition coach".
- Fitness and other specialties: locally or internationally recognised certificates, confirmed with the issuer or through its published records.
First aid
When a trainer provides a first-aid and CPR certificate, we check that it is still valid and show it on their profile.
Profile review
Before a profile goes live, we review the bio, photos, intro video, services and prices to make sure they are accurate and make no claims the certificates don't support.
What the Certified badge means
The badge appears on a trainer's profile once we have completed:
- A check of their identity.
- A check of at least one professional certificate in their specialty.
- A review of their profile before publication.
Each certificate on the profile also shows whether we have verified it, so a trainer may have some verified certificates and others we have not checked yet.
What the badge doesn't mean
- It is not a guarantee of results. Results depend on many things, including your commitment and your health.
- It is not a rating of the trainer's coaching. For that, read the reviews from trainees who completed their sessions.
- It is not medical clearance. If you have a health condition or an injury, or you are pregnant, talk to your doctor before you start.
- It is not employment. Trainers on trainer.sa are independent professionals, not our employees.
How often we check again
- We track each certificate's expiry date and remind the trainer to renew before it runs out.
- An expired certificate is hidden or shown as expired, and we may withdraw the badge if the trainer has no valid certificate left in their specialty.
- We review every active trainer's profile at least once a year.
- We check again straight away if we receive a serious report about a trainer.
How to report a concern
If you have doubts about a trainer's certificates or behaviour, choose "Report a problem" on their profile, the booking page or the chat. We review every report, may hide the trainer's profile while we look into it, and then tell you what we did as far as privacy allows. If your safety is at risk, call the emergency services on 911 first.

Questions about verification
Can I see a trainer's certificates before I book?
Yes. Every trainer's profile lists their certificates with the issuing body and the year they were awarded, and a check mark appears next to each certificate we have verified.
What happens when a trainer's certificate expires?
We track expiry dates and remind trainers to renew before a certificate runs out. An expired certificate is hidden or shown as expired, and the badge can be withdrawn if a trainer has no valid certificate left in their specialty.
